I assess your piano prior to carrying out any work and discuss options with you to find the best course of action for you and for your piano – whether that is a standard piano tuning, a pitch raise to bring the instrument to concert pitch, a full regulation of the piano action or repair/restoration work.
My training as a piano tuner and technician at the internationally respected Newark School of Musical Instrument Crafts furnished me with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform piano servicing and tuning to a high standard. To ensure my work is the best it can possibly be, I stay abreast of new developments and techniques in piano technology by undertaking continued professional development and staying in touch with colleagues in the piano trade.
As a musician, I understand the significance of a pianist’s relationship with their piano, and the consideration required when approaching any work on a musical instrument. I place great importance on communication with the customer to ensure that my piano tuning, servicing and repair work is to your satisfaction. If the work needed on the piano is beyond my resources e.g. a full workshop restoration or a replacement piano, I can often recommend a suitable restorer or retailer should you wish.
I hold an Enhanced D.B.S. Check (Child Sector) and am available to work in schools.
